Update a 'Date Picker' field in the Subtasks table

In the subtasks table of an issue, there are columns such as 'work', 'priority', 'status' which can be updated on the table itself.

But when the field is of type 'Date Picker', the date cannot be updated on the table directly. One needs to open the issue first, and then modify that field.

If one needs to modify only 1 subtask, it is fine. But for multi changes in one go, it gets really tedious.

Is it normal? Is there a workaround?

Thank you !

Hi @Guy ,

Are we talking about Subtasks panel within item view? So, this?

If so, within this panel, you can edit system date picker fields (e.g. Due date), but custom fields cannot be edited.

There's a feature request related to that: JRACLOUD-94875: Ability to edit custom fields of Child issues, Subtasks and Linked issues sections when viewing the parent issue

Cheers,
Tobi

I forgot to mention that, as an alternative, you can use project List view, where items are grouped by hierarchy, and you could edit more fields there. (e.g., Start date)

Generally, different screens/views support different functionalities. 👀

hello,

If the date to be changed is the same, you can use bulk edit.
However, if each item has a different target date, you'll need to edit them individually.
If you're on the Premium plan, you can organize the data in a spreadsheet and upload a CSV file to make bulk changes.

Hi @Guy

As already suggested, this isn't currently possible in the Subtasks panel of the work item view, however if you're open to solutions from the Atlassian Marketplace, you should get pretty close.See e.g. this thread for potential paths forward.

Cheers,

Daniel
