hello, I want to update my instance of Jira 7.2 to the latest 7.9. Does this entail a risk? Thank you

Hi,

With your license comes a developer license that you can use as a test instance if you are running server.

Of course there are always risks involved in updating but if you first update on a test instance most of the risks will be mitigated.

One thing you will want to look for is if the plugins you are using are compatible with the newer version.
