Usage of Linking Issues in JIRA

If we select a JIRA and block it by another JIRA, will its completion be blocked, that is will releasing that JIRA be blocked ?

Or is it just for information sake, to list dependencies and blocking of JIRA.

What impact does it have ?

Hi Charu,

The default behaviour has no impact
It is only for information sake.

However, it is possible to prevent a Jira issue from completing, when it's block by another Jira issue, with the use of addon's  (like ScriptRunner, Automation,..) and adding conditions in your workflow.
