Use rest api to update custom field on a screen tab

Hello I have been searching around and have not been able to find an answer to this one. What is the json syntax to update a custom field on a screen tab using a rest api call?

Never mind about this one. I falsely assumed I would need to add the tab to any api call updating a custom field if it was on a tab in the issue view/edit screen. This is not the case. Just a simple call to update the custom field is used.
