One of the team member wrongly marked a user story as invalid, how can I revert back to the original status?

When modifying the status you should be able to see all posible status changes that a ticket can go through. I imagine your problem is that no statuses are available as the workflow was designed for that status to be the final one.
If you can see statuses, you can go through the workflow as normal until you reach your desired status.
If not, the only way would be to modify the original workflow. You can check out this documentation on how to do that Edit a work item workflow | Atlassian Support
(Be advised, you may also need to modify the workflow scheme depending on the operations you need to carry out)

- You can change the transition back to previous based on issue/work item history.
- Based on your workflow, check how you can reach back to required transition; as there could be some condition to reach to previous status.

You can update the workflow to add a status from invalid to some other status and after that you can change the story status:
Project Setting -> workflow -> edit workflow

It will depend on your project's workflow whether or not you are able to revert back to the original status.
You may need to get your Jira admin to look at it for you.
Another option is to clone the user story and use the new copy.
