Issue links section not displaying new associated links

Hi Everyone,

 

Running into a weird issue where in the Issue Links section new link types that are added are not showing up in the Issue Links section. They are showing up in the history section but there is no update in the Issue Links section as would be expected. For new bugs, I create I am not even seeing the Issue Links section, I don't see the section appearing at all. Anyone have thoughts on how to solve this perplexing issue?

Reindex the jira instance. What is the 'user links' section? Screenshots tell a story.
