Using Info|Note|Warning macro in Custom Field default value.

I'm hoping to be able to format some custom fields, with a template that uses the info|note|warning macros.

Using the {info} syntax  in the default value of the custom fields doesn't actually work, it just renders the text {info}. is there no way to use a macro in a default value?

So, {info} and the other macros are Confluence, not Jira.

If you're trying to provide instructions/guidance for a Custom Field to a Jira screen, the usual thing folks do is add a Description, which will show up beneath a Custom Field, like so:

The other way to add informative text to a screen is to use a Message Custom Field, which will end up looking like this:
