Hi There:
When I create a Viewer user and assign an issue, the profile automatically change to Viewer and Member. How I can stop this? specially if a use Jira to work with customers, who dont need to have full visibility of the project.
Thanks
So this is a TMP project. I did a quick test and did not see that a Viewer changed to both Viewer and Member when I assigned them to an issue. However, I would not expect that you could even assign an issue to a user that is only a Viewer since a Viewer cannot own/work on issues. So it would seem reasonable to expect that if I attempt to assign an issue to a Viewer it would either reject the action OR change the user to Member.
ah the frustrations of TMP…. 🤨
hopefully a TMP savvy Community member can provide us with some acceptable guidance here.

Ok…so “I think” I know what is going on to explain my observations.
when I did my test my TMP was public allowing anyone to have access to create, edit issues. This appears to override (?) the roles as it allowed me to assign an issue to a viewer. However, when I changed the project to Private and attempted to assign the issue the Viewer user was not an option. This would meet my expectations.
that said, @Silvia Parra , I cannot recreate your scenario. Can you inspect your settings and share the details?
