Want a simple report showing time spent on which activity in a given period

I need a report mostly for a retrospective view what we spent our time on last period (14 days). Main interest is time spent on new dev, improvement, bug fix, task, support etc. 
So I'm thinking a simple hour report from Tempo filtered by project, grouped by project and issue as it would be natural to use issue type to measure activty and time spent. That report does not show issue type in Jira view but it's part of excel export. But that again creates some work as I must group the data toghether, remove unwanted rows etc etc. thi smust be a commen required, any easier way to do this? We have Tempo and BigPicture plugins.

I'm a BigPicture team member, so here's how I'd run the tracking of Time spent in BP:

1. I would divide the timeline into Sprints, iterations, or whatever time boxes you wish. 3 ways of setting up sprints in BigPicture/BigGantt.
2. Then I added the 'Time spent' column to the view (View > Column views > Manage column views), see fig. 1, and applied SUM [no parent] aggregation here.
3. As you can see, Development-related tasks took 115 hours during 20 Jul and 2 Aug, while Bug fixing cost only three hours, as green arrows indicate.

Obviously, this is a way to go for those who wish to combine planning ahead with the retrospective approach you mentioned.
