What Gadget would should I use to track Story point by component on a current sprint?
I have created a filter for my Projects for all tickets that have a story point value > 1. But I am unsure what gadget I can use on a dashboard to display all components within the current sprint with the count as Story point value, not count of tickets. Please help! We are using the cloud based version.
Unfortunately, there is no way to do this report in Jira. However, for such cases I have created a custom app - https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1219429/status-progress-report-gadget-for-jira . It does exactly what you need.
thank you, I see the app you created uses points associated with a user, does it have the functionality to change that by component? The data we want to see if by component. thanks!

Yes, it can also show story points created/resolved per component too.

Resolved issues are issues for which resolution field is set to some value (is not empty).
Alternatively, you can specify the app to treat resolved issues as issues where status fields is set to done, even when resolution field is not set (check the appropriate checkbox in dashboard item configuration screen).
You can read more on resolutions/statuses here - https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiracloud/configuring-statuses-resolutions-and-priorities-776636333.html
