What can cause a different created timestamp between the REST API and the web front end?

We are extracting data using the API to be able to undertake analysis on the time that each ticket spent in a particular status. There are some tickets where the created timestamp is one hour differrent to the web front end, vs the api. This means we have some transitions taking place before the items is created ... causing some stange data and graphs.

We have an onsite installation and the default timezone is GMT + 1 and all users profile use this default. Are there any setting anywheer else we might need to change?

Thanks!

This is not an answer but what does the timestamp in the DB say?

Hi Timothy - thanks for your prompt response, unfortunatly we can't get access to the DB, it is pretty locked down.
