What determines a ticket idea to be crossed out?

So we are seeing items being crossed out when in a certain state, does anyoneknow what causes that ticket item to become crossed out?

Hello,

An item is crossed out if the item has the resolution field set.

Can we see that? The issue I am having is that we want it to stay uncrossed if we have it in an blocked or hold state

You need to set the resolution field empty while moving to the Blocked or Hold status

Hi Doug,

As Alexey mentioned, the existence of a resolution  causes the issue to appear as strike-through.

There are 2 possibilities on how your issues get a resolution: Either you have the resolution field configured to appear on a screen, in which case it becomes mandatory and the default resolution is automatically selected

OR

Your workflow transitions contain post-functions that set the resolution to a certain value when the issue transitions.

Check both these scenarios and remove the configuration that causes the issue to have a resolution.

So yep I found that I do have resolution being set, but is there a way to make the state it is being set to not be considered "struk out"?

No. As long as there is a resolution (any), the issue will appear with a strikethrough.

This is because in Jira, the existence of a resolution means that there is no further work to be done for that issue. Anything else should be managed by using statuses
