Jira Software Development scheme-

When linking issues from requirement to our Problem Change record and then to the Test issue record not only does the link appear correctly but then another shows up a Linked Issues called Requirement Derivation.

What does that mean?.

We didn't link it like that but it shows up.

Can someone give us a reason why it shows up and what does it mean?

Can we ignore it?

Thank you for your help.

Hi @FA Lewis

It probably come from a 3rd party app or a automated script you have on your instance.

So you link issue of type requirement to a problem change and also to a test issue right ? What are the link type use ?

Is Requirement Derivation a type of link to an issue or Requirement Derivation is an issue type ?

What is the unexpected link ?

A screenshot would help.

Not a 3rd party app.

We are tracing requirements to the task and the test. So Problem Change Record and Test issue types.   When linking as described above the display not only shows those links but also a Requirements Derivation linkage that was not created by the users.
