Hi All,
I have question on jira/confluence plugins. I have a plugin that is being used by users , say Quick sub-tasks for JIRA, where users would have created sub-tasks templates in their projects for creating multiple sub-tasks. The plugin is not working and I was unable to enable few modules of the plugin. I had uninstalled the plugin and have reinstalled it again. Will there be any loss of data, say existing sub-tasks templates that were created in projects? Will reinstalling the plugin map the plugin related data? Thanks
Regards
Niran
Hello @Niranjan
"Uninstalling" the plugin never removes any data from the DB. Thus, when you install the plugin again then you should see plugin templates again.
I have done it multiple times with many plugins, but still I strongly suggest you to have a proper test instance in place so that you can play with all such scenarios.

It depends on the plugins. Some plugins might have tasks that are done during uninstallation. That is rarely the case but possible.
A typical example is when a plugin does cleanup during uninstallation. As Tarun suggested, always good to try it out in a Test environment before doing in prod. Also, make sure you read the plugin documentation to be sure.
