What is best practise for getting a customers Jira OnDemand issues into my local server Jira instance

My customer has a JIRA OnDemand account.  I want to be able to load their issues into my local JIRA instance automatically.  I have seen a plugin that syncs issues between two JIRA instances, but I dont know if this will work between OnDemand and Server.  I would be interested in hearing of other peoples experience, and any suggestions for this or a similar scenario.

The JIRA Command Line Interface (CLI) add-on works for both Cloud and Server instances, and you can use one of the methods described here. It can then be automated using your favorite tool, such as Bamboo.
