I am interested in configuring the preview pane that appears to the right of the backlog list in backlog view. I do not know what that is officially called. I have been able to successfully configure all other screens but this view has fields I need to remove and I cannot find instructions on how to edit that preview field.

I'm not sure if all you want to do is change what Fields appear in the Preview Pane or something more complicated, but "Fields" that are available for the issue type on Cloud are added/removed under Specific Project > Active Boards > ... button, top right (not the one for the ticket. the one at the top) > Board Settings > Issue Detail View (last option in the left column on the page that appears). You have to have any "Custom Fields" configured for your issue types before you'll be able to see them in this drop down list, and you have to have at a minimum (I think) permission to administer that project, though.
Hope this info. helps someone.
I found the answer and it was horribly hidden.
I had configured a screen scheme for all my issue types and assigned them to the proper type in each project but since I didn't have a issue type that was issue detail what I did was to assign a scheme to the default issue type for the project and then the issue detail was configured to that scheme.

Hi Michael, I am sorry but I could not follow the above solution, can you please detail it out for me. I am sorta in the same situation as you were in before.
Thanks!

I also have another question (based on your screen capture) - is there anyway to configure what is displayed on the backlog screen itself? I mean in your example you have type, priority, ID/key, description, release, Estimate/Filters, Assignee, story point - can you add a field to this? can this be re-arranged?? Thanks!

I am sure this is a kludge but I configured the screen in question by configuring the default issue type scheme and assigning it to the Story issue type. This changed the appearance of that particular view.

To configure the display in the backlog it is done on a board by board basis.
Open the board you want to configure
Using the ellipsis in the upper right corner select Board Settings
Select Card Layout on the left and you can add or reorder 3 elements of the display. All others cannot be configured natively.

You can edit the preview cards in the settings if you want to change them globally or on the board button at the right top if you want to change it in that board.

I am not looking at changing the card view or color. Look at my link...I am talking about the preview that populates the right pane of the main screen when you click on any issue in the backlog.

You have to change the Issue Detail View not the card layout.

ok so I found this instruction:
but these instructions are not accurate for cloud. I cannot find the Issue detail view config.
Can you tell me where to find the Issue detail view config?
