We are using version JIRA 4.4.4, our instance currently houses 452201 issues. To give more details below is the database statistics for our instance.

- Issues 452201
- Projects 1153
- Custom Fields 832
- Workflows 112
- Attachments 201782
- Comments 748127
- Users 15369
- Groups 5890

We currently reboot & reindex our JIRA servers weekely. The re-indexing process takes about 5-6 hours to complete.

Is there any recommended number of issues fro a single JIRA instance, witout affecting the performance of the JIRA instance?
Also, do we need to take any special provision/maintainance considering the size of the JIRA instance.

Regards
Imtiyaz

Please have a look at https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRAKB/JIRA+Performance+Tuning. JIRA 5.1+ can have more than 200,000 issues.
