Hi Guys,
I'm trying to create WBS (work break down structure) to a project in Jira.
I would like to create hirrarchy between the tasks (like summary tasks and tasks in MS Project) in order to see the total estimate of a list of tasks. (for example 5 tasks with an individual estimate of 1d will be shown as 5d total)
What will serve my intention better? Using task and sub task relationship, or linking the tasks as "child of"?
Thanks a lot.
Use subtasks. You cn include the subtask time information on the parent. You won;t be able to do it with links.
Ok, so if lets say I will use the Jira plug in that created a Gantt chart, will it look like a summary task and tasks underneath it? And the time estimation will be aggregated as well?
Thanks.

It depends entirely on the plugin and ohw they have coded it. I am guessing it will show the issues and subtasks as different issues. But you can ofcourse code it differently!
It is most likely that subtasks are included than links. You might want to test with couple of test issues.

Depends on plugin, yes :) I am guessing you installed a thirdparty one for gantt charts.

So basically you are saying the plugin is configurable and I can determine how it will display certain features (links and dependencies)?
Is it configurable by code only or by the plugin preferences? (I guess it depends on the plugin right?)

I have not installed one yet; I'm still reviewing the options.
Any experienced based recommendation?
