When I change the component of an issue I want Jira to automatically assign the entire issue to the component lead. Can this be done?

I have added in departments of our company as the project components. When the issue is created it automatically assigns the issue to the component lead. However when I change the component say from IT to Corporate Services it remains assigned to the IT component lead.

Appreciate any help you can give on the matter. I've searched through your support material but have not been able to find any.

Probably possible with the JIRA Behaviours plugin, heres a sample tutorial:

I think it might have something to do with the post function of your workflow transtion, have you added a post function for Assign to Lead Developers?

Try check and disable and see if same observation is found. Hope this helps :) cheers!
