I have created a custom search and on the list view, I would like to display the most recent comment.  I can make the view show the description and multiple other information, but not the most recent comment.  Is there a way to do this?

Hello @Kathleen Hart

Welcome to the community.

That is not currently a feature that is available natively in Jira. Here is a change request for it:

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-2734

In this article there is a proposed work-around from @Zoryana Bohutska _SaaSJet_ :

Hi @Kathleen Hart

welcome to the community!

If you're open to solutions from the Atlassian Marketplace, this feature is available out-of-the-box in JXL for Jira.

JXL is a full-fledged spreadsheet/table view for your issues that allows viewing (and, in many cases, inline editing) all your issue fields, plus a number of "special fields", such as the latest comment. You can also view the date of the latest comment, as well as the latest "public" comment in Service Management projects (i.e., the latest comment that is visible to a customer).

JXL works directly on your existing issue data, so there's no scripting or automation needed.

Here's how this looks in action:

As you can see above, you can easily sort and filter your column, and even copy/paste values into it, if you like to do some kind of bulk commenting. More info at https://jxl.app. Disclaimer: I work on JXL :)

Hope this helps,

Best,

Hannes
