When watching a Jira Issue, whether get notified of updates to a sub-task

As the title, I want to know, when you watch a Jira Issue, do you get notified of updates to a sub-task.

If not, how can we do that?

You'll need to write code to do that. Sub-tasks are independent entities really and Jira doesn't have anything that would trigger an event on another issue when one is updated.
