Why I do not get email notification when Issues are assigned to me or when i am the 'assignee'

I do not get email notifications when new Issues are created in Jira and when I am the Assignee or the Issue.

Hi Nanda,

please check the notification scheme of your project

http://<your jira url>/plugins/servlet/project-config/<project-key>/notifications

There you can see, who gets an email notification, e.g. when an issue is created.

most probably the Notification Scheme is configured to send less mails.

Or the mail server doesn't send the mails.

Do other colleagues receive Jira notifications?
