Why are my closed tasks not removed after completing a sprint?

Sebastian Steer November 3, 2021

Hi,

we have started to use sprints in the last month. When completing the sprint it says "0 issues were done"

We have two types of issues:

When you ended the sprint, were all the stories and their sub-tasks in the last column on the board?

It look like this:

Is the status "done" mapped into the last column on the board?

OK @Sebastian Steer there is a problem, You need to map at least "Done" status to "Done" column.

So, no.  Your task is not in the last column, even though its subtasks are.

Jira takes the last column of the board as the "definition of done", if an issue is not in that column when the sprint closes, it's not done.

So, you'll need to map the Done status into the Done column!

Hi @Sebastian Steer can you check that Resolution field has a value set when it is in Done status?

Sebastian Steer November 3, 2021

Hi @Martin Bayer [MoroSystems, s.r.o.]  how can I check this?
I opened Configure Screen page for GG-Project. At the moment we don't have resolution here. Should I add it?

Can you share the screen of your issue's detail view?

Sebastian Steer November 3, 2021

I have now added a post function that is setting the resolution to done. I opened a "done" project again and set it to done again. --> now the resolution was set.
But if I click on the complete sprint button there is no change. "0 issues were done"

Can you share your board before Complete Sprint button is pressed?

Not an answer but want to go on record as saying this is perhaps the stupidest bit of design I've ever seen in 30 + year career.....needs to be in last column???? What is this? COBOL? what's the point of the resolution field if its not the key of a issue being resolved and being able to drop out of the spring rollover...seriously...idiotic
