Why are tasks being marked as "done" after only editing the task but not moving it?

This is something that has started to happen after the recent JIRA update (the new task icons). When I edit an issue, say change the assignee, update the summary or even version and click "update," JIRA is striking through the task number and setting the resolution to "Done, " but keeping the task "Open" (as it should be since it's not really DONE yet).

Sounds like something new is going on in the background to set the resolution. Is done perhaps your default resolution? The resolution field is required whenever it is presented. If it is on the edit screen and you edit the issue and there is a default it will be set.

Sounds like someone has put the Resolution field on the Edit screen - check that first, and if they have, remove it immediately.
