I've noticed a frustrating behavior in Jira 7.8.2.
If the user is a watcher on an issue and is mentioned in a comment, the email he receives does not include the word "mentioned" in the subject line. If the user is not a watcher, the email does include the word "mentioned".
Like many people, we use email filters to identify "important" Jira notifications (i.e., issues where a person is explicitly mentioned) compared to less important Jira notifications (i.e., issues where the person is just a watcher).
Is this a new bug or an intended behavior? If it's the latter, is there a way to fix it in the preferences?
I did some more digging and this issue appears to be a design flaw:
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
