This question is in reference to Atlassian Documentation: Monitoring work in a Kanban project

Why do tasks with subtasks span multiple columns for certain people. I have co-workers with tasks on a kanban board that span Development, In progress and done. I have others with the same type of tasks that do not span multiple columns. Not clear to me why this happens.

I suspect it's because the subtasks are in different status, and those status are in different columns.

That sounds right to me as well.

But not easy to tell without knowing the configuration of the board and the status of the subtasks.
