I have created a custom burn-up chart for my project (based on one of the pre-existing examples in the Jira installation) in order to predict the 'finish date', i.e. the date when we - with the current progress velocity - have put in effort corresponding to the total number of hours we have estimated for the project activities. Pretty standard, I would say.
Now, what puzzles me is that my burn-up chart just stops plotting data at a certain date, see picture.
Same thing if I switch to table view - there is simply no data after this date. My project/version has a start date (start 2021) but I don't see any 'end dates' anywhere and certainly haven't defined an end date...
Obviously, I'd like to keep plotting the chart until the 'Predicted Hours' line meets 'Total Effort Estimate'...
How do I do this?
Here is Ilze from eazyBI support. Great that you adjusted the existing report to your own needs!
One thing that can be the reason for similar cases in forecasting reports: there could be missing future time members in the Time dimension (i.e., no Time members after February 2022 for you). Time members are dynamically added for dates when there are some activities (or planned activities like due date) for imported Jira issues. And, consequently, if there are no Time members, there are no rows in the table to plot the lines and the line ends with the last Time member.
Check that and, if missing indeed, add them manually, let's say, for full 2022 and 2023: Add members to the Time dimension.
If this is not your case, please, export the report definition and send it to us at support@eazybi.com.

Hi Ilze,
Thanks a lot! That absolutely solved my problem. I don't have admin rights and obviously that is why I wasn't able to find the spot, where additional time members could be added. I went over to our admin and we added the dates together - my chart now looks exatly as I wanted it.
Thanks for helping out.

That date is a prediction of when the project/sprint will be complete based on the data you input.

Thanks, but looking at the chart it really isn't, right? I expect the date of project/sprint completion to be when the red line (Project Prediction) intersects the horisontal blue line (Total Effort), and that date is obviously months after the chart stops plotting... EazyBI is actually able to correctly calculate the intersection date (= 06-OCT-2022) and I just need the chart to continue plotting to that date...
So, it seems I need to change my input data? The input data is basically all my issues with corresponding estimates?
