Why does the work log continue to convert time to days?

I changed the standard built-in work log to these settings and the system still converts to days and hours:

Hi Danno,

these settings just tell you that the DEFAULT time for work logging will be in hours.
Meaning, you if you enter a number it will be understood as HOURS.

If you enter 2d , then it will ignore the default and enter 2 days.

It should convert only when you enter the work log - at the issue level you will see e.g. "Remaining time" in hours.

We use the smallest unit of time (minute) and our time tracking is displayed in hours.

Cheers

Aline,

Thank you for responding but I believe you misunderstood my question. I want the time to remain in hours only so minutes would be tenths of an hour and not become days once it is more hours than the set value of Working hours per day (10 in my case). It turns out after I posted this question that someone else had already asked this question two years ago which is covered by this issue in the Atlassian system.

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-69310

I find that unless you are a software engineer who can create their own add on to Jira you will have a lot of headaches trying to sort out the system and set it up.
