I am able to send a ticket into JIRA personally, but JIRA is not accepting an email from ServiceNow. It's not accepting it. What do I need to do to get JIRA to receive these requests?

Hi @Brody Rypien

Jira is intentionally designed to prevent emails from other services like ServiceNow or Zendesk because this could lead to a mail loop/ping pong between both applications.

Where server a sends an email to Jira and Jira sends a confirmation to the said service and it replies.

Since there is little control here it’s not allowed by default.. If you must and you are using JIRA core incoming mail, enable JIRA to process bulk emails and this would normally make it receive these emails. Do remember to add a default reporter so JIRA has a user to associate the ticket with.

I have exactly the same issue, we have a key client sending ServiceNow requests and Jira ignores them.

If i strip the email subject off, then the message goes straight in.

I can understand about them looping etc., but is there any workaround other than manual intervention which seems a littel silly.

Having spoken to my client, they tell me that they have other Jira connections and they work, so i am real confused!

Hi

We are facing the same issue the mail handler throws error as below:

Cannot handle message 'Problem PRB004465

Can you please tell how we can resolve it.

Or how to integrate Service now and jira to create jira tickets from service now

Thank You,
