I've created my own field configuration where I edit descriptions for certain fields.
all of them seem to work except "Issue Type" one. I am running a relatively old JIRA instance (version 5.2) but this i cannot change because of a coorporate licence.
Any ideas why this happens?
The description does not display in the issue creation screen. I tested in 6+ version as well

I am aware the custom fields Description is visible in the issuenavigator. But not sure of this. I will check and get back
