I am stumped. I have a custom field for Story Points. I want to add it to a new issue type named "new config". I have gone through the steps to edit it in the context https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiracloud/add-a-context-to-a-custom-field-991923881.html
I have added my new "new config" issue type to the Issue Types field (along with bug, task, story and subtask).
In the Application context the Global context radio button is selected.
When I try to create a new task in the project using my "new config" issue type, the custom field is not displayed.
Then, when I try to create any new task using ANY other issue type, the field is not displayed.
What is going wrong?
I'm not sure what happened, but today, when I updated the context (yet again) it suddenly worked. I did notice that for some reason, it unchecked some of the fields in the Configure Fields screen. I think there is something buggy going on. Anyone know if this is normal behavior?

In the Create Issue screen in the top right there is a Configure Fields button and in the next dialog there is a "Where is my field?" link. That will tell you why the field doesn't appear on the form.

You can first verify if the create screen (or create screens) you use for that specific issue type has your custom field already or not.
