Why is "Epic" not a "Group by" option on my team-managed project?

Could you please tell me how to get my team-managed project Board grouped by Epics? I seem to be missing that option in the "Group By" dropdown menu, and I also just noticed that I am missing the "Features" submenu from the project settings menu.

  1. Navigate to your JWM team-managed project Board.
  2. Click on the three-dot icon in the top-right corner of the board and select Board settings.
  3. Click on Swimlanes.
  4. Under Base Swimlanes, select Epics.

This should group your JWM team-managed project Board by Epics.

Regarding the missing “Features” submenu from the Jira Cloud project settings menu, it could be because you’re using a company-managed project instead of a team-managed project.

However, the JWM list view currently supports hierarchy nesting (Epics > Stories > Subtasks) in the list view.  This works across both CMP and TMP projects!

But the issue in the list view  is while you can see Epics, we move tasks or sub-tasks under epics or between epics.

Interestingly, we also seem to be missing the Board settings options in the meatball  menu for our board.

I am sorry that the answer you got before was misleading - it was generated by an AI that has no understanding of your question or Atlassian software.

Your screenshot seems to be of a Jira Work Management project, which is also team-managed.  The boards for JWM TMPs do not support epics.  Epics are only really supported on Jira Software boards.

Hi there, My bad for the confusion in my previous response, and thanks for setting things straight. You're right about AI &  I did test it on the basic Team's managed project.
