Hi
Using Jira in Enterprise means I don't simply login with my atlassian account, we use Federated Single Sign on with 2FA.
Will Jira implement enterprise SSO so that we can all use the desktop client rather than the browser?
Thanks
Sam
@Samuel Yes, the app supports SSO. I believe if you log in with your email (but not with Google), it should kick-off the SSO flow. Let me know if you have any problems.
when logging in to your mac desktop app with an enterprise username@enterprise.com this does not kick-off the SSO flow.

@Samuel Just confirming, are you trying to connect to a Cloud instance? (The Mac app doesn't currently support Server instances.)

You can achieve true enterprise SSO through Marketplace apps with Kerberos support. These will utilize the desktop clients to authenticate users on trusted networks automatically .
Kerberos is also supported by MacOS through the kinit command: http://computing.help.inf.ed.ac.uk/kerberos-mac-os-x
You can also use kerberos in combination with SAML. With such a combination, users on trusted networks are authenticated automatically without being exposed to any login-dialog at all. Users on remote networks can be forced to authenticated through SAML and 2FA.
Full disclosure: I work for Kantega SSO, the vendor of the most popular Kerberos app for both Server and Data Center. I am happy to assist you if you want a demo of Kerberos for Mac and how Kerberos and SAML can be configured together to achieve optimal login experiences and security for all users.
