Will any restricted functions be lifted in the future?

Andrew Male January 11, 2012

Hi,

We would really like to integrate our onDemand JIRA with our local version of Confluence. As there is a restriction on configuring trusted applications this isn't possible at the moment:

Are there any plan to review these restrictions in the coming year?

Thanks.

Hi Andrew,

In a perfect world we would like to provide a completely unrestricted platform, exactly as you would expect with downloaded versions of our products, but the restrictions are there for a reason and so it is a challenge to remove them. Of course we are listening to our customers and wherever possible we are attempting to remove the restrictions as we are able to overecome the associated technical challenges.

There are a number of improvements going on behind the scenes and as the OnDemand platform matures there will almost certainly be less restrictions, however this will require that our developers overcome a number of significant challenges and therefore there isn't currrently any plans to change the restricted functions at this stage...although there is certainly the aspiration and this is something we are actively pursuing. My apologies that I'm not able to go into more detail at this stage, but I'm sure we will see many improvements as the platform develops.

All the best,

John
