On my team Project we have our normal Sprint Board with a backlog (actually multiple sprint backlogs too). I was testing something and created a second Sprint board in the left panel 'Boards' dropdown.
The new sprint board has everything that the original one has in it (same ongoing sprint, same backlog and same multiple sprint backlogs). If I delete the newly created sprint board will it affect the original at all or delete everything?
So a board is just a view into some project data (driven by the board filter), you can create and delete as many boards as you like, the project data will still be there.
Hi @Warren ! Thanks so much for you response - that really clears up my question.
Although, I've noticed when I go to delete it I'm first prompted with the following message:
This board contains issues from *Sprint Name* and that sprint is currently active.
We recommend completing or deleting active sprints before deleting NO - Design.
Are you sure this won't affect the current sprint in progress?

I'll try in our sandbox and get back to you

Okay, so our sandbox project has 2 boards already, one Scrum and one Kanban. I added a third board (Scrum) which showed the multiple sprints that are currently in progress (yes, people keep adding but not finishing because it's a sandbox). I then tried to delete this new board and got this message
I clicked Delete and the board was gone, but all those sprints listed are still there along with their stories and sub-tasks.
I think that warning may be applicable if the board is showing issues from multiple projects, but even then I believe it would be okay to delete.
