We are currently evaluating Xray for test management. Its does have a lot of features we were looking for.
One of the things we found annoying is that it does populate the Test Set automatically when creating a new Test Case from within a Test set using the "Create Test" button.
Is there a way to automatically populate Test set number when creating a new Test case from a Test Set?
Hi Gaurav,
On the Test Set view issue page, you can create a Test issue with the Test Set automatically filled with the current Test Set issue key. For that you need to use the "Create Test" button on the Tests section.

Hello, Once you have created a Test set an you are in the test set, then you will see a 'Create test' button under 'Tests' section. If you use that button to write your tests , your Test will have the Test set number by default. (Just below you Evaluation license message box)

Hi Gaurav, It seems you are not using the "Raven Test Screen Scheme" for your project. This scheme is associated with the "Default Issue Type Screen Scheme". You must have another configured. On the "Create Test" screen, you should be able to see 4 different tabs which are missing from your screen. I think this is causing the Test Sets custom field not to be filled with the Test Set key. You can either choose the "Default Issue Type Screen Scheme" for your project or configure the "Raven Test Screen Scheme" on your current issue type screen scheme. If you have more problems we sugest opening a ticket in our Service Desk site: http://jira.xpand-it.com/servicedesk/customer/portal/2 Regards, Bruno Conde.
