Xray or Qmetry which of this tool would work better for my project?

mail2dwarak March 24, 2021

We are a startup product based company where our applications is a windows based application and it would be enhanced gradually with all cloud features.

Both tool looks good for implementing test management however management wants to have a good presentation about pros and cons of both tools.

Need suggestions please?

Hi,

Every tool has its pros and cons so I would suggest you can pick one which really suits to your requirements, process and help you to increase productivity overall.
When I have evaluated test management apps at that time I got a good response from QMetry where his product representative gave me a detailed product walkthrough with all the differentiators. According to me, QMetry is better in many areas like permission module, rich UI/UX experience, ease of use, data parameterization, getting overall required details of tests on story, nice and clear execution UI, Import/Export, traceability report, dashboard gadgets, Integration with cucumber framework and Jenkins integration app, exploratory testing, pricing etc. I am personally using it and would recommend QMetry.

Hi @mail2dwarak ,

If you are still exploring, check out AIO Tests - Test Management for Jira too. I haven't used Qmetry but a key difference between XRAY and AIO Tests is that XRAY uses Jira's issue types for creation of test entities while AIO Tests doesn't.

AIO Tests is one of the few test management tools that does not treat test entities like cases, executions, cycles, runs, etc. as Jira issues. This approach helps provide a more seamless and intuitive way of test management.

Key features of the app are

  • easy creation and import of test cases
  • linking to Requirements (Jira stories)
  • organizing in Folders and Sets
  • efficient execution with analytical view of multiple test executions
  • easy recording of run defects and artifacts
  • inbuilt traceability and execution reports and ability to save reports
  • Automation support for JUnit, TestNG and a Jenkins plugin
