Hi,
We currently have Zephyr installed on JIRA and would like to restrict access to it to a certain number of users. This is partly for governance reasons but also from a billing point of view (approx 90% of users won't need to use it).
Does anyone know if this is possible?
Thanks!

I am evaluating Zephyr for JIRA pluggin for 50 users including QAs and BAs to use it
though we already have Licensed JIRA for almost 500+ users. What will be the costing applicable to 50 users for using Zephyr across different projects?

It is 2021 and this is still not solved. Atlassian - are there any plans for customers to be able to configure your partner's licensing per named user similar to what you do with your own products (Confluence and Service Desk)?

Hi,
Do we have a solution from Atlassian or are they planning to implement ?
Otherwise may be we should start thinking of moving out of Jira.

It is 2022 and there is still no solution from the Atlassian team for group-based user licensing.
In my case, we use Jira for our design, operation, HR and business team also. It doesn't make sense for me to pay for Zephyr for these user groups. Hence we had to move away from Zephyr or many other such paid apps.
I have seen Atlassian being slow on user requests. Not sure how their product team looks into user requests.
Atlassian is killing business in a way for these application/plugin developers.

Reply from Zephyr:
Licensing is taken care by Atlassian and as per the Atlassian pricing model license tier for add-ons should be equivalent or more to the highest tier of JIRA instance.
Please see the pricing model here . https://www.atlassian.com/licensing/marketplace#licensingandpricing-1

As I understand it, if you have 100 users in your JIRA instance, but only 10 need Zephyr, there's no way to configure it so you're only charged for the 10 users. The add-on would stop working as soon as you drop below 100.
Hope that helps.

Hi James,
I do have exactly the same needs, have you got an answer from Zephyr that you can share ?
Thanks
