I am trying to set up an "approval" step to a workflow, and what I read, was that I should select the status I want to add approval step to, then check the box next to "include approval step"
the issue I am having, is I don't see an "include approval step". Does this exist in the cloud version?
I am finding a lot of the examples, documentation, even training, is referencing items and menus I don't see in the cloud version, and wondering if the changes in the cloud vs server versions are that different.
Thank you
Cristina
Hi @Cris Santamaria ,
You can setup a simple workflow with the approval step in it. You can create that state in the workflow as seen below.
Details of how to set it up is shown here [Approval Step]
thank you. I will give it a try, I was looking into it before, but could not get it to work as we need it

Hello, have been trying to figure this out, and I can't seem to figure out how to set up approvers. From what I have read, when I set up the steps, I should see a check box to "add approval" but I don't have that, therefore, approval steps are not possible and I don't know why.
I've been finding this a lot, I try something I read, only to find, I don't see those options. I don't know if it's because I'm on a "free/trail" version, or if it's a cloud vs server difference.
thank you.
Cristina

@Cris Santamaria The workflow has to be added to a project and issue type through a workflow scheme so it is actively being used. Then you can edit the workflow and the checkbox to add approvers will show up.

Yes, I have it all set up that way. I really don't know what I've done wrong, but I have it as part of my project, I have assigned issue types to the workflow, I have it in workflow scheme...

@Cris Santamaria This is available in the cloud version of Jira Service Management. Are you using Jira Service Management or Jira Software? If you answered yes to using Jira Service Management then is the workflow active? (An active workflow is one currently being used in a project) If you have not associated the workflow with an issue type in a project please do so and then the approval options should show up.
