Hi @jalenwang_王一欽_

Welcome to the community.

A user with org or site admin permissions has to approve this.

See this article, your-site-admin-must-authorize-this-app-for-the-site-instance-name-atlassian-net-before-the-app-can-access-your-account

If this doesn't work for your site @jalenwang_王一欽_

Best is to contact Atlassian Support

hi, I saw two options in "Atlassian Support",

(1) Browse community and ask question again

(2) View Documentation

May I know is it your suggestion we shall check these documents first ?

Hi @jalenwang_王一欽_

If you are not a Jira , Product, Site or Organization admin you can request for support. Ask someone in your instance, with the correct permissions to riase this.

Or are you on a free tier subscription, choose the billing option to raise a request.

Hello @jalenwang_王一欽_

The error message you’re seeing means that the Atlassian MCP app requires authorization from a site administrator before it can access Jira data on your Atlassian Cloud site (“mobiledrivetech.atlassian.net”). This is a common security/permissions step for new integrations.

You can see the guide here - https://confluence.atlassian.com/confkb/how-to-fix-the-error-message-your-site-admin-must-authorize-this-app-for-the-site-instance-name-atlassian-net-before-the-app-can-access-your-account-1600324364.html

But here’s how a site admin can authorize the app:

  • Log in as Site Admin: An Atlassian site admin for “mobiledrivetech.atlassian.net” is required. Product admins alone are not sufficient—site admin rights are necessary to approve integrations
  • Go to Atlassian Administration:
  • Navigate to Connected Apps:
    • In the sidebar, click “Connected apps” (or “Apps” > “Manage apps” for some admin consoles).

    • Find “Atlassian MCP” in the list of connected or available apps.

  • Authorize the App:
    • Click the “Atlassian MCP” app.

    • Approve or authorize access for “mobiledrivetech.atlassian.net.”

    • You may need to review and approve the access scope requested (shown in your screenshot as “View” and “Update” for jira-work data)

  • Retry Your Action: After authorization, users should be able to connect and use MCP-related features, including functions like jira_download_attachments.

If You Don’t See the App:

  • Make sure you’re logged into the correct site and account.

  • Some admin consoles label this as “Connected apps,” “Third-party apps,” or “App requests.”

If You Are Not a Site Admin:

  • You must contact a current site admin to ask them to complete the above steps.

  • If you’re unsure who that is, go to your Atlassian profile, check the admin list, or ask your IT/support team.

You can also take a look at the guide here as well for further details on Managing your apps - https://support.atlassian.com/security-and-access-policies/docs/manage-your-users-third-party-apps/
