Hi,
Background: we have a Popup project where tickets get created if issue arise. So we consider one ticket and start working on it. However meantime new tickets gets generate for the same issue. So we close these similar issues tickets as marking them as duplicates with respect to original ticket and at a time only 1000 tickets can be close using bulk option.
Challenge: is there any script or option using which all such tickets will get close and we will receive an alert regarding to the closure of particular ticket no whenever a new tickets gets generate in that project.
Hey Swapnil,
It's been a while since you posted this question, so let us know if you found a solution.
I was doing some tests with Jira Service Desk Automation, however couldn't find any proper solution.
There are also several discussions in this community around this:
https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-questions/I-would-like-to-know-if-it-s-possible-to-check-for-duplicate/qaq-p/156723
https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-questions/JQL-query-to-find-same-summary-value-issue/qaq-p/381096
It seems that there is no any solution besides using an add-on like script runner:

Or perhaps some other add-ons.
Let us know if you found any good solution here.
Cheers,
Vasily
Dear Vasily,
Thanks for your response.
Hope you are doing well!!
Since there is no solution available in JIRA to fulfill this desired condition, we have to either follow the tedious way or purchase the addon.
Thanks,
Swapnil
