change administrator's username?

Hello, I switched all the usernames to their first name, but sadly cannot update my account (I'm the administrator).

Is there someway for me to switch my username to my first name?

I added my second user to "administrators" and "site-admins" groups, however JIRA still thinks the original account is the "administrator" and that account is can't be deleted.

Do you know how do to make the new account the "administrator" from JIRA's perspective so that I can delete the original account?

Also it looks like the admonition "You cannot rename yourself" only applies to the one blessed administrator account since I can rename my secondary account without problem.

You need to create another administrator account and use that to do the renaming. As the message says: "You cannot rename yourself."
