Hi

Have an old jira installation (3.11) With no LDAP configuration.

Suddenly after christmasvacation one user cant log in.

I want to change his password but cant find where I can do it.

I been looking at his user profile but cant see anything like "change/reset password"

I'm logged in as admin.

Please verify that the user you are logged in as is actually a memeber of the jira-administrators group. That will ensure that you have the necessary permissions.

Here is the link the the documentation for 3.11 on how to change a users password, http://www.atlassian.com/software/jira/docs/v3.11/usermanagement.html#Changing+a+User%27s+Password

is the forgot password link on the page for other users? On a different machine?

ps - sorry about the second answer, I forgot that the add comment link, even though I knew that comments wereen't working in safari. d'oh!

An administrator can change a user's password by going to Administration / User Browser , finding the user and clicking on the user ID link, and then "Set Password". A user can reset their own password by pressing "Forgot Password" on the login page.

Well on the login page I cant find any "forgot password" link.

And on user page i cant find any "set password" link

The problem is that I cant find any links for changing password anywhere.

if you are using an external user/password management, like LDAP, then users and passwords are not managed within JIRA. As an administrator, scroll down to the System section, and click on system Info. What are the values for External user management and Crowd integration?
