Using pie chart gadget to display by component. I am seeing some components show up twice.
There are 197 issues in the filter, but when adding up by component it shows 220 so there are some being shown twice.
I noticed that if an issue has more than one component, it seems to show up twice in the results.
Is there any way to see each component only 1 time?
All issues are from the same project btw.
OK figured it out. I swore up and down that there were issues from only one project. But the filter contained 4 filters. Each of those 4 filters contained other filters .. by the time I dug into the layers of filters, there was one filter that pulled in issues from another project that also contained the same component names.
Thank you everyone for the suggestions!
Issue solved!!
good to know because that was the only explanation that made since to me.

I have a feeling this might be the right behaviour in the pie chart, but your screen shot does not match what I'm thinking there. I would like a closer look at the data.
Could we start with a look at the filter you are using? Is it as simple as "project = X", or does it include many projects or references to components?
Then, can you add a "filter statistics" gadget to the same dashboard, using the filter, including the resolved issues and with the statistic set to be "component"

The filter is actually a filter of filters.. i'm also suspecting that may have something to do with it. It looks like this:
filter = "Unresolved FW defects S>=7" OR filter = "Unresolved FW defects SOD>=125" OR filter = "Unresolved blocking FW defects" OR filter = "Unresolved FW defects no SOD"
I did try the issue statistics filter / by component / including resolved and I see the same problem with components showing up twice. It's funny it's like 2 sets of components -- they are not even sorted so they show up next to each other.
I'm going to dig into the individual filters to see what I can come up with, and also I am going to try and replicate this in a test project with less issues and components.
thank you

@katie, I suspicious that you actually have two components of the same name. have you gone to the project components page and checked this?

Hi, thanks -- I double checked, we do not have components of the same name.
The only thing is that if I click the first 906 it's just issues with component 906. The second "bucket" of 906 issues are issues with 906 and one other component.

I tested that in my instance and did not see that occur. I'm on cloud so if you are on server maybe there is an actual bug but not sure. Might be time to reach out to Support

Hmm. I just created a brand new test project and created 1 issue with component 'red', one with 'blue' and one with 'red and blue'.
It seems to be working correctly in the pie gadget.
Any other reason you can think of why components may be in there twice? What if an issue was moved from another project or something?
thanks again

I really am unsure but feel that it has to do with two similarly named components. Let's try a couple thing....

I tried #1 and there is only one 906 component in the drop down.
I'm currently 42% through a reindex to see if that fixes it otherwise i'll try your suggestion 2.
thanks again

example of results - you can see that 906 shows up twice. one group has issues solely with 906 as the component, the other has 906 + another component selected.
