create an issue from email but reporter should not take from the FROM address

Hi all,

I would like to create a ticket  from email. According to this doc https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver073/creating-issues-and-comments-from-email-861253784.html the reporter name will be taken from the "From" address.

I want the reporter to be taken from some other field .

 This is the first time I am going to work with Jira.   Is the custom message handler is the way to go (https://developer.atlassian.com/server/jira/platform/message-handler/)?

Can some one please give some suggestions?
