Good Morning,
I created a mail handler that creates tickets or updates them when a email is received. My question was is there a way that you can still receive a regular email without creating a ticket everytime? I was trying to set up a helpdesk that we can receive regular emails and create tickets from.
If you could filter you mails on the mail box on certain characteristics, and place them in a separate folder, you could have the mail handler read out only that folder for processing the mails, either creating new issues or comment on existing ones. Details on the folder configuration in the mail hander can be found on this page. Set up the mail server to use IMAP as described here.
Not really. Jira will process ALL the incoming email.
You could find/write a listener that skipped the "delete email from inbox" step if you decided not to create an issue from it, but that does mean you'll be repeatedly processing that email and choosing not to delete it.
