customfield time in status ...what is it for?

Hi

When i want to create a new customfield i can choose the field called time in status, but when i create one i dont know what is it for?

help me please with how can i use that custom fiel time in status

The field is used for the JIRA Charts - specifically Average Time in Status.  You just create the field, but it is not meant to add to a screen.

thx, but if i dont creat that field... i can use the cart avarage time in status. i mean i dont need to create those customfield to use the chart,
