Hey guys I'm trying to get a nice summary view or dashboard that when I select and initiative it show all the epics', stories etc below and what status they're in. anyone had any luck with something like this
Hi @Max_Clark
Welcome to the community!
You can use Jira's built-in filters to create a query that captures all relevant epics, stories, and their statuses under a specific initiative. You can then add gadgets like "Filter Results" or "Two-Dimensional Filter Statistics" to your dashboard to visualize this data.
Hope it helps!

Hi @Max_Clark,
Unfortunately, there is no native Jira dashboard gadget or Confluence macro to display the issues grouped by their hierarchy.
You could try the native Filter Results gadget/macro to list the issues. Also, you could try the List view available at the project level, which can show the issues by their hierarchy.
For something better, you could search for a plugin on Atlassian Marketplace.
In case you want to try a plugin, our Great Gadgets app offers some gadgets & macros that will fully address you needs.
Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) gadget / macro - can display the issues from a filter/JQL grouped by their hierarchy Initiatives > Epics > Tasks, Stories > Sub-Tasks along with their status.
Pivot Table & Pivot Chart gadget / macro - can display the issues from a filter/JQL grouped by their parent hierarchy Initiatives > Epics > Tasks, Stories along with their status and other fields at your choice.
Danut.

Hi, @Max_Clark
I am not sure you can meet exactly these requirements with Jira's out-of-the-box functionalities. If you are open to a marketplace solution, I recommend Mindpro Insights. I work at Mindpro, and I believe the app can help with this scenario.
It allows anyone to create and share dashboards with dynamic gadgets easily. It means when you click on a chart segment, the entire dashboard adapts to the filter. You can choose from over 50+ available.
The app also has a "Hierarchy" filter that displays the subitems in an indented way, and also the gadgets will respect the hierarchy selected:
You can choose one or more items in the hierarchy filter.
I hope that helps.

Eduardo
