date time field - Differences by Create and edit a story/EPIC

Katja Wollersheim December 30, 2020

I configured the date time fields like the german way to write. If I create a new Story/Epic it works like I wanted. If I edit a story/EPIC it shows the right format but I cant fullfill it like it is shown. I just can add the date by using the calender.

In the attachment I show the differences and the configuration. I checked the following steps

  • Edit a story
    • Format configuration is like I want (german way)
    • Fullfill the date like shown, but the calender do not show the right date.
    • Date can only fullfill with the format m/dd/yyyy or by using the calender
  • Create a new EPIC/Story
    • By creating a new story/EPIC the date configuration works correct
  •  Global date configuration
  • Look and feel Configuration

Maybe anyone can help?!image.pngimage.pngimage.pngimage.pngimage.pngimage.png

Thanks Mykenna Cepek

I wrote to the support and vote for bugfix. Hopefully the will aggregate the bug tickets and fix it asap.

It looks like lots of bugs have been reported for this. Here are just a few:

To find these, I went to the list of Atlassian bugs and searched for:

project in (JRACLOUD, JSWCLOUD) and statusCategory != done and text ~ "date" and text ~ "format" ORDER BY updated desc

About all you can do is vote for these. Maybe also consider writing to support (especially if you have a paid Jira plan), and complain that there are likely well over a dozen separate bug reports for this same issue.

Since Atlassian uses "votes" for a bug to influence what they fix next, having so many separate bug tickets dilutes the voting. Atlassian should aggregate all these to one bug report, which would better represent community support for fixing this problem.
