Is there any way to collapse 'Activity, Poeplo, Dates, Time Tracking', etc when user first time to bring up JIRA issue? Currently all parts expanded by default is pretty busy in the screen for user.
Each account in JIRA have a record in the database on "how" they would like to view a JIRA Issue (do not confuse this on "what" they are going to see in a JIRA issue which is configured differently). This is configured by each account and you only have to do it once. E.g, if you like the "Comments" tab to be opened whenever an issue is viewed, you will have to open it once and when you open another ticket, the default tab that is opened is the "Comments" tab. The same is applied to the collapsable sections. Again, each account will have to do this on their own.
Is this not the case? What JIRA version do you have?
Thanks Gabrielle! I tried it which works well. But I am wondering if there is any setting or configuration in properties file to make all 'Collapse' as default. Since we have some new users who are not familiar to JIRA and they don't use JIRA too often. So we would like to make the issue screen look simple for them. Could you provide other solution? Thaks!

There maybe a database update for this for all existing accounts, however new accounts will still have the default setting.

We are using JIRA 5.2.6, could you specify which table has 'how' column? Thanks!
